Partnerships
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. As a participating company, Genan is committed to continuously strengthening our work with its Ten Principles – covering human rights, labour rights, the environment, and anti-corruption. We also contribute actively to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sustainability is Genan’s core value, and we are committed to striving for a sustainable future in every choice we make. As the world’s largest recycler of end-of-life tyres, we believe waste should be a resource, not a problem. Participating in the UN Global Compact is a natural step in our effort to create environmental and economic value – and to do so with integrity.
We integrate the Ten Principles into our daily operations – not as a formality, but as a practice. From respecting human and labour rights to reducing environmental impact and standing against corruption, we hold ourselves to high standards. Sustainability is Genan’s core value, and we are committed to striving for a sustainable future in everything we do.
Our core business contributes directly to Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – and Goal 13: Climate Action. These goals are closely linked to how we work: Recycling worn-down tyres into new materials, lowering CO₂ emissions, and supporting a circular economy.
Partnerships
Based in Viborg, Denmark, FN17 Business helps companies large and small work actively with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As a member, Genan is part of a growing network that connects local responsibility with global impact.
Genan is part of this network of businesses committed to sustainability in practice. Our shared ambition is to link local responsibility with global impact – through dialogue, knowledge-sharing and joint action. As members, we take part in conversations that move ideas forward and make the green transition more tangible for companies of all sizes.
The NEW LIFE initiative brings together companies and associations with a common goal: To promote the use of recycled materials from end-of-life tyres (ELT) in high-quality, long-lasting products.
Genan supports this mission fully. We work with NEW LIFE to spread awareness about ELT recycling and to highlight how recycled rubber, steel and textile fibres can offer real environmental benefits – especially compared to virgin raw materials. It’s about showing what recycled materials can achieve, not just saying they’re sustainable.
AZuR is an innovation-driven forum focused entirely on the recycling of end-of-life tyres. The network includes a wide range of companies connected to the tyre industry – from recyclers to researchers and product developers.
As a partner, Genan contributes to shared goals: Establishing recycled rubber, steel and textiles as valuable raw materials, and finding new markets and applications for them. AZuR’s work is both technical and strategic, helping to shape the future of tyre recycling across industries.
EuRIC represents the interests of Europe’s recycling industry. Through its various branches, it covers most waste streams – including tyres – and connects national federations and companies from over 23 countries.
As an active partner, Genan engages in EuRIC’s work to promote circular economy principles at EU level. This includes contributing to policy discussions, supporting the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), and helping ensure that real-life recycling is part of future European legislation.
At Genan, we give used tyres a new life, creating unique and sustainable products – only imagination sets the limit! Have an idea or a request? Let’s make it happen.
