GENAN SAFETY SURFACING
Genan offers rubber granulate and pellets for shock-absorbing safety surfacing solutions for playgrounds and trails. The concept of these solutions are different combinations of top layer and base layer for a more safe and secure outdoor area.
All surfacing solutions described below are IPEMA certified.
A poured-in-place surfacing solution
GENAN SAFE – PLAY consists of:
– a 2½-4½ inch base layer of GENAN PELLETS 3.8 / 35, and
– a ½ inch top player of GENAN COATED TOP LAYER – or a 50/50 mix of GENAN COATED TOP LAYER and GENAN COARSE granulate.
This solution has achieved a 6-10 ft critical fall height certification.
GENAN COATED TOP LAYER is available in the following colors:
CARIBBEAN BLUE, CRIMSON RED, EARTH BROWN, NATURE GREEN, OCEAN BLUE and VIOLET.
When constructing the safety system top layer of the GENAN SAFE – PLAY solution, the ½ inch top layer can be constructed with either:
– a 100% GENAN COATED TOP LAYER, or
– a 50/50 mix of GENAN COATED TOP LAYER and GENAN COARSE
Alternative top layer solutions made from either:
– 100% TPV/EPDM/TPE, or
– a 50/50 mix of TPV/EPDM and GENAN COARSE
are also possible. If either TPV, TPE or EPDM is used, it is crucial that installers follow the instructions and recommendations of the supplier of these products in relation to material thickness and fall heights – and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
A solution with loose fill material
GENAN SAFE – PLAY HOME is a certified loose fill rubber product made from our GENAN PELLETS 7.0 / 35 engineered buffing material.
When GENAN SAFE – PLAY HOME is installed for playgrounds, you can achieve a fall height of 10 ft when you loosely compact pellets from 4.5 inches to 4 inches.
GENAN SAFE – PLAY HOME is also suitable as mulch for tree surrounds, flower beds, landscaping and many other areas.
A permeable surfacing solution and a compacted base layer
GENAN SAFE – TRAIL can be made by combining GENAN PELLETS 4.2 / 5, GENAN COATED TOP LAYER or GENAN COARSE with pebbles and binders.
GENAN SAFE – TRAIL can be installed on top of stone/pebbles poured over existing concrete asphalt or wood, providing a more shock-absorbing surface to improve safety for active users.
GENAN SAFE – TRAIL can be used on cart paths, walking trails, bunker liners, gathering locations or the like.
