At Genan, we recycle end-of-life tyres using advanced technology – recovering as much material as possible and reducing waste.
The process
The Genan recycling concept for end-of-life tyres is built on decades of experience. Originally conceived in 1990, our technology has undergone continuous development ever since. Today, with more than 35 years of experience, it is fully automated and designed for consistent, high-quality output.
All types of end-of-life tyres – from passenger cars, vans, trucks, tractors, and large earth-moving machines – are separated into their original elements: Rubber, steel and textile.
The result speaks for itself. Genan delivers a recycled rubber product that is clean, uniform, and reliable – every time.
The output from a Genan plant consists of 75% rubber powder and granulate, 15% steel and 10% textile fibres.
Our process
The Genan process is fully automated – designed for efficiency, consistency, and minimal manual operation. A plant with a 70,000-tonne annual capacity runs with just three staff members supervising the process – and one maintenance operator per shift.
The Genan granulation process is certified for both energy and quality. Product samples are taken daily and analysed by either in-house or external laboratories. This ensures that products meet the highest standards in the market – as set by Genan.
Genan’s process is based on a setup first developed in the 1990s – and has been improved continuously since. We have a strong focus on topics such as energy reduction, optimisation of through-put, purification of output fractions and reduction of maintenance costs.
The total capacity of all six Genan plants is more than 400,000 tonnes per annum.
Our concept
We transform end-of-life tyres into sustainable materials, supporting a greener and more circular economy.
Our animation takes you through every step of the process – from the moment tyres arrive at our facilities to the production of high-quality recycled materials. See how nothing goes to waste and everything is given a new purpose.
